“Create a magazine” is the motto one balmy Monday morning at the SfGZ. A few weeks later, the “mir”-magazine with the overarching theme of “hate and love” is ready. It contains texts written by myself, reports, real surveys and photo series by photographers such as Lise Sarfati, Chantal Convertini, Thomas Marquise, Ryan Muirhead and myself, and it deals with Zurich’s youth, feelings, controversial topics and strong opinions.
The magazine is a mixture of analog and digital work. Diary entries or handwritten surveys appear repeatedly on the double pages. It is also divided into two parts: love and hate. The first section is symbolically kept in warm colors, the latter in a cold blue of hate. They meet in the middle and talk to each other on a transparent foil – because sometimes love and hate are not as far apart as you might think.
